Enjoy a 35min Scenic helicopter flight including a 10min glacier/snow landing and spectacular views of the Southern Alps. Flights confirm with a minimum of 2 paying adults.
All flights depart from Aspiring Helicopters hangar, a stunning 25min scenic drive from Wanaka township towards Mt Aspiring National Park.
Take to the skies like an Eagle and appreciate a birds-eye-view of dramatic and diverse “Lord of the Rings” inspired landscapes.
This fight takes in rugged peaks and deep glacial carved valleys along the spine of the Southern Alps. You’ll see the start of the famous “Shotover River” and experience a high-altitude landing on a giant “river of ice”.
There are nearly 300 glaciers in our region and we can land on either the Isobel or Tyndall glacier. Both have spectacular views over the Southern Alps.
On your 10minute stop take the time to breathe the crisp mountain air, have a snowball fight, make a snow angel and capture the moments on camera.
All our pilots are happy to take snap shots for you and most are pretty competent with a camera!

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
