Description
Explore Oslo’s forests with a guided walk, taste traditional Norwegian meats, enjoy a cozy campfire with stories, and make your own rømme waffles topped with local favorites.
Step outside Oslo and into a world of authentic flavors, stories, and traditions. Just 40 minutes from the city, this experience combines Norwegian nature, food, and culture in one unforgettable adventure.
Meet your licensed guide and professional chef (with over a decade of kitchen experience) at Frognerseteren Metro Station — please arrive 10–15 minutes early.
You’ll begin a relaxed forest walk, with your guide sharing insights into Norwegian culture, traditions, and Norway’s mountain gastronomy. Along the way, learn how nature and food are deeply connected in everyday life.
The tour includes a tasting of traditional cold plates featuring lamb, cured trout, horse, and other local delicacies rarely found in restaurants.
We’ll then visit the charming 100-year-old wooden cabin, Tryvannstua, now a rustic forest bakery, where you can enjoy a local beer or drink of your choice. This historic cabin has long been a gathering place for hikers and nature lovers in the Oslo forest.
Next, head into the surrounding nature where our chef will prepare a cozy campfire. Gather around the flames while sampling wild Scandinavian meats, accompanied by hot drinks, anecdotes, and culinary stories.
To finish, get hands-on and make your own Norwegian rømme waffle over the fire – topped with traditional local favorites, including the sweet brown cheese (brunost).
This intimate experience is limited to a small group of 8 guests, ensuring a personal and memorable adventure.
Note: All food is prepared in a licensed kitchen and served according to Norwegian health regulations. Open fires follow local rules and are only used outside the forest fire ban period.
