Description

Join a hands-on Arctic experience, this is your call. Join the crew of Senjafjell and head out into the majestic fjords of Tromsø to hunt the notorious invasive species: the King Crab
This is not a sightseeing tour, it’s a real experience at sea. You’ll be involved in the entire fishing operation: preparing bait, setting traps, and hauling up the pods. If you’re after something active, authentic, and thrilling, you’re in the right place.
And what’s the reward for your hard work? A well-earned meal, of course. After fishing, we’ll prepare a delicious King Crab dish on board, and trust us, after working on deck, you’ll feel you’ve earned every bite.
During the trip, our crew will guide you through the fascinating story of the King Crab in Norway, how it arrived, its biology and behavior, and the impact it has had on local ecosystems and coastal communities over the last 50 years.

The activity starts at the office, where every guest will have to put on some suits (oilskin in summer and thermo suit in winter), after which the guide will walk with you towards the boat where the captain shall meet you all for a brief about safety and the activity overall. Then we will navigate towards the pods located and proceed with the fishing maneuvers that are going to be explained by the crew. Therefore the crew will prepare you onboard a king crab dish on the way back. The trip duration is 3 hours.
