Description

Join an exciting Aurora Borealis hunt in a comfortable minivan (max 8 people). Discover its secrets with an experienced guide and warm up next to a campfire in the Arctic wilderness!
After 6 years as a Northern Lights guide in the Arctic, I now want to share my experience, knowledge, and most importantly my passion with you, in Italian.

To best admire the Aurora Borealis, we need to leave the light pollution of Tromsø and immerse ourselves in the Arctic wilderness. The direction we take will depend on the evening's weather: clouds can hide the Aurora, so our priority will be to find clear skies. When necessary, we may even cross the border into Finland!

Once we find the ideal spot, we will choose an intimate location, away from other tours and artificial lights. Waiting is part of the experience: the Aurora may appear after a few minutes or after a couple of hours. To make the wait enjoyable, we will light a bonfire, enjoy snacks and hot chocolate, and tell you all the secrets of this natural spectacle. Temperatures in winter can vary between +5°C and -30°C, so I will provide thermal suits for all participants.

If you have a camera, I will teach you how to set it up to best capture the Aurora. I will also take professional photos for you myself, so you can keep a lasting memory of this magical night.

It is important to remember that nature is unpredictable: rarely, the sky might remain overcast or solar activity be weak. However, even on the most uncertain evenings, all it takes is a 20-minute gap in the clouds to witness a breathtaking spectacle. With my knowledge of local weather and the use of advanced instruments, we will maximize the chances of being in the right place at the right time.

The length of the tour will depend on the time it takes to find the ideal conditions. Sometimes a 30-minute drive from Tromsø will suffice, other times a full-fledged Aurora hunt will be required, exploring a larger area to find the starry sky. Whatever the night, you are assured of an unforgettable adventure!
