Description
Night fjord cruise from Tromsø with small-scale fishing, warm meal and storytelling. Winter: chance of aurora. Summer: experience the midnight sun.
Begin your evening at our central Operations Base in Tromsø (Storgata 88, 3rd floor). Meet the crew for a concise safety and plan briefing, then change into warm flotation suits or bright orange oilskins before we walk to the boat. Gearing up on land means faster boarding, safer footing and more time on deck once we reach the fjords.
Go into the Arctic night and experience Tromsø the way locals do by boat, under the open sky. We keep a slow, steady course (no anchoring) through calm fjords so you can enjoy the scenery, the gentle hum of the engine and the rhythm of the waves.
Your local crew will introduce traditional small-scale fishing adapted for night conditions and share stories about coastal life, the polar night and the people who have lived from the sea for generations. In winter (Sep–Mar) we look for clear skies and the possibility of auroras; in summer (May–Jul) we cruise under the soft light of the midnight sun. Either way, every night at sea has its own kind of magic.
Warm up in the lounge with a hot local meal and drinks, or enjoy the fresh air on deck. This is a calm, authentic experience focused on nature, culture and simple comfort—no loud music, no rush, just real Arctic moments.
