Escape Tromsø city in just minutes and step straight into authentic Arctic nature on this guided snowshoe hike near the city center. This easy and scenic tour combines coastline, forest, and cultural history — all close at hand, yet feeling wonderfully remote.
We begin at the parking area by the old Aquarium in Telegrafbukta and make our way down toward the sea. Walking along the Arctic shoreline, you’ll pass historic buildings connected to Tromsø Folk Museum, including traditional boathouses, old fishing equipment, and cultural landmarks dating back to the 1800s. Your guide will share stories about local life along the coast and how this area has been used for generations.
From the coastline, we cross into the museum grounds and continue along peaceful forest trails in Folkeparken. Here, snow-covered trees and sheltered paths create a calm, almost magical winter atmosphere — a perfect contrast to the open coastal views.
The route loops back toward Telegrafbukta via the Nobile Monument, gradually opening up to views across the water toward Kvaløya. We finish near the sledding hill, where we take a relaxed break to enjoy warm drinks and light snacks while soaking in the surrounding winter landscape.
This tour is ideal for beginners and families who want a genuine nature experience without long travel, offering a beautiful introduction to Arctic winter just outside Tromsø city.

We meet at the parking area in Telegrafbukta / Folkeparken, near the old Aquarium area.
Your guide will be waiting at the parking lot and will be clearly visible, wearing outdoor clothing and carrying snowshoes and equipment. The guide may also have Tromsø Adventures gear.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before the start time and look for a small group gathering at the parking area. If you are unsure, feel free to approach anyone with snowshoes — that will be us.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
