Description

Small group tour (max. 12 people) to discover the history and culture of Tromsø with an expert tour guide.
After 9 years as a tour guide in Norway, I now want to share my experience, my knowledge and, above all, my passion for the Arctic with you, in Spanish.

The tour will start with a one hour walk from the Tromsø Cathedral (which is not the Arctic Cathedral... I know, it's confusing) to the historical center.

Here, a visit to the Polar Museum (which is not the Polaria... I know, it's confusing) is a must: Arctic hunting and polar explorations were the activities that made Tromsø the most important city in northern Scandinavia, the "Gateway to the Arctic". The tour will last one hour.

Finally, we will return to Tromsø Cathedral following a different itinerary to give you an even more complete view of the city.

This tour does not consist of a list of dates and boring historical facts that you will forget 10 minutes after the end of the tour: everything I will explain to you will be presented as part of a great story that will accompany us from the beginning to the end of the tour. My goal is to offer you a narrative that is easy and entertaining to follow.

Moreover, on this tour I will not only talk about the history and culture of the city and the region, but I will also share anecdotes and curiosities about life at 69° North, where the sun does not appear for six months of the year (although, in reality, it is "only" two).

I will be proud to introduce you to my city, but what satisfies me most is your curiosity: I will gladly answer all your questions, covering any topic that arouses your interest. Perhaps you want to know more about the Sami or the Vikings? About life during the midnight sun and the polar night? Or do you want to know how I learned Norwegian (this impossible language!)? Is it true that more children are born 9 months after the polar night? And did Thailand's King Rama VIII, in 1946, really die by accident or is there a conspiracy behind it?

At the end of our visit, you will have a much broader understanding of why so many people live so far away and isolated in the Arctic, and above all, what it means to live in the Arctic.

Ready to discover Tromsø with me, I look forward to an exploration of 69° North!
