Description
In this 2-day tour we will discover the beautiful landscapes of the Colca Canyon. We will start the tour in Puno and finish in Arequipa, enjoying a unique route in Peru.
Itinerary
Day 1: Puno - Chivay
We will pick you up at your hotel in Puno between 6:15 and 6:30 AM and head to Chivay, approximately 300 kilometers away. Along the way, we will traverse the beautiful landscape of the high plateau, where we will see wetlands, lagoons, streams, and pampas. We will also encounter a variety of mammals such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, as well as a wide range of birds like flamingos and guallatas, among others. We will continue our route to Patahuasi, and from there we will enter the Colca Canyon. On this route, we will pass by the crater of the extinct Chucura volcano and stop at the volcano viewpoint, where we will appreciate much of the Western Cordillera from 4,910 meters above sea level. Finally, between 1:00 and 1:30 PM, we will arrive at a hotel in Chivay where you can have lunch on your own. Dinner, which will also be at your own expense, and accommodation will take place at this establishment. You can take advantage of your free time after lunch to explore Chivay at your leisure or enjoy the famous hot springs of the town.
Day 2: Chivay - Cruz del Cóndor - Chivay - Arequipa
We will have breakfast at the hotel and start the day by taking you to the Cruz del Cóndor, the most important viewpoint of the Colca Canyon. There you will have two hours of free time to admire the beauty of the landscape and, who knows, you might be lucky enough to see the majestic condors flying. Afterward, we will return by bus to Chivay passing through the beautiful Andean towns of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque. We will also traverse the terraces, archaeological remains, and narrow paths of the Colca Canyon. Did you know it is one of the deepest canyons in the world? Once we arrive in Chivay, you will have an hour of free time for lunch, and around 1:00 PM we will return to Arequipa. The arrival in Arequipa is expected between 4:30 and 5:00 PM.

This tour includes one night of accommodation with breakfast in Chivay.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
