Description

Venturing on the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, we will traverse some of the most awe-inspiring terrains the Andes have to offer. As we journey through Salkantay Trekking routes.
DAY 1: Unforgettable Adventure: Cusco to Soraypampa, Salkantay Pass, and Chawllay Sky Lodge Dome

Distance Covered: 25 km – Approximately 9 hours of walking
Camping Altitude: 2,900 meters above sea level
Highlight: Reaching the highest point of the trek at 4,650 meters above sea level
Weather: Warm and windy during the day, with cooler temperatures at night
Accommodation: Cozy stay at Mountain Sky Cabins
Meals: Enjoy a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner

DAY 2: Exploring the Journey: Chaullay to Santa Teresa, Hydroelectric, and Aguas Calientes
Distance Covered: 25 km – Approximately 8 hours of walking
Accommodation Altitude: 2,000 meters above sea level
Note: Prepare for a long and demanding day of hiking
Weather: Warm, hot, and tropical climate
Accommodation: Comfortable hotel stay
Meals: Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner
DAY 3: Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco

Machu Picchu Visit: The long-awaited highlight of the trek. After waking up early around 4 am for breakfast, we depart at 4:30 am for a walk to the Inca Machu Picchu citadel. The hike from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes about 1.5 hours, with a flat 30-minute stretch followed by an hour-long ascent on historic stone stairs to the main entrance.
Entrance: At the main control, show your Machu Picchu tickets and original passport.
Guided Tour: A 2-hour guided tour of the Inca citadel with an expert guide.
Return: After the tour, we head back to Aguas Calientes and take the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by a transfer to Cusco.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
