Take a charming tour of the city of Cusco where you will travel back to the times of the Inca Empire in our private service either in the morning or afternoon, just for you and your group.
For this tour, pick-up at your hotel is 15 minutes before the tour begins, either in the morning at 09:00 AM or in the afternoon at 01:00 PM (According to your choice).
We will begin the tour in the imposing main square of Cusco, giving an account of the history it houses, we will enter the Cathedral of Cusco, a symbol of Andean religious syncretism, later we will go through one of the narrow streets like many in Cusco to the Palace Inca del Qoricancha, also where the convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán is located, considered in Inca times as the most important palace built for the Sun god, culminating the visit we will board our tourist bus which will transport us to the 4 ruins which are located around from the city of Cusco, arriving first at the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which is strategically built on a mountain from where the entire city of Cusco can be seen. It is famous for its megalithic-sized stones worked in limestone rock, some of which are 9 meters high and weigh approximately 100 tons. In this place the Inti Raymi festival or Festival of the Sun is held every year.
Then we will visit the archaeological site of Qenqo, which means labyrinth or zigzag, where it is believed that the Incas mummified their dead. Later we headed towards the archaeological site of Puca Pucara, which means "red fortress", since the limestone stones with which this site is built have acquired the reddish color of the terrain. This place had the function of strategic control of people who entered the city of Cusco in the Inca era.
And finally we will visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, or “tambo” which means place of supply and rest, which were strategically located on the network of Inca roads, where we can also see water sources for religious purposes, as well as niches to house mummies and offerings, a truly magical place.
Completing our tour we will return to our bus which will transport us back to the city of Cusco.
