Description

Visit Machu Picchu in a different way on this 2-day excursion along the Abra Malaga route. We will enjoy spectacular scenery and climb the citadel on foot, perfect for the more adventurous!
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - Hydroelectric - Machu Picchu Village
Between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. we will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and head by minibus to Ollantaytambo through the fascinating landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

We will stop for breakfast (not included) to get some energy before starting the Abra Malaga route. We will ascend to a height of 4316 meters above sea level, from where we will have one of the best views of the Peruvian geography.

Then, we will start the descent through the jungle until we reach Santa Maria, at 1250 meters above sea level. After a brief stop to take energy, we will arrive at Santa Teresa, anteroom of the Hydroelectric Plant, where we will get off the minibus to recharge our batteries in a local restaurant around 13:30 hours.

With our appetite satiated, we will start a walk of approximately 3 hours to the village of Machu Picchu. In this village we will have dinner and spend the night in a local lodge.

Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cusco
The second day we will have to get up very early, but we assure you that it will be worth it. We will have breakfast at the hotel and at 5:00 a.m. we will begin the ascent to the citadel of Machu Picchu on foot. After an hour and a half walk, we will enjoy an unforgettable sunrise, and you will not be able to stop taking pictures!

Upon arrival, we will take a two-hour guided tour of the spectacular lost city of the Incas. As we make our way through its narrow streets and passageways, you will understand why it is considered a masterpiece of architecture and engineering.

At 10:30 a.m., we will begin our descent on foot to return to Aguas Calientes. We can also go down by bus, if you prefer.

From Aguas Calientes, we can return by bus or on foot by the Abra Malaga route to Hidroeléctrica. From there, we will return by bus to Cusco. In this city, where the arrival is scheduled at 21:30 hours, we will leave you in the vicinity of the Plaza de Armas.
