Description

Trek to Machu Picchu through the Inca Trail, one of the most popular treks in the world. Enjoy a truly unique experience that combines culture, nature and tradition.
Day 1: Cusco
After resting from your altitude acclimation, begin with a visit to the Inca Museum, home to thousands of years of Andean culture. Continue to the temple of Koricancha, the famous Sun Temple of Qosqo, which served as a pinnacle of organization, architecture, and religion for the Inca civilization.

Day 2: Free Day
Enjoy a free day to explore the colonial churches, parks, squares, and colonial mansions built atop the original Inca walls. Peruse the artesian stores full of weavings, jewelry, stonework and dine on the best of Andean cuisine.

Day 3: Piscacucho - Wayllabamba (12 km)
The first day is relatively easy with a visit to the Patallacta ruins. Constructed at the foot of a mountain, Patallacta was a very important center for administrative, economic, and religious functions. Visit Willkarakay, a military post located above the site of Patallacta, and walk along the banks of the Cusichaca River.

Day 4: Wayllabamba - Pacaymayu (11 km)
Hike to the highest point on the Inca trail, the mountain pass of Warmihuañusca. The trek in the morning is rather physically intense, more so for those who are not used to hikes in this altitude, yet it is also one of the most spectacular with opportunities for fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding valleys below.

Day 5: Pacaymayu - Wiñayhuayna (15 km)
Visit the archaeological site of Runkurakay, an ancient tomb, and the beautiful archaeological site of Sayacmarca. Enter the Andean cloud forest and take in the views of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

Day 6: Wiñayhuayna to Machu Picchu (5 km)
Hike to Inti Punku, an incredible spot to observe the citadel of Machu Picchu and, weather permitting, sunrise in the Andes. Afterwards, a 45-minute descent will take you into the higher area of Machu Picchu, before returning to the site to learn more about this magical place of beauty and culture left by the local ancestors.

Day 7: Cusco
Enjoy a free morning to relax or explore other main sights of the city. In the afternoon you will have a transfer to take you to the airport.
