Venture to Machu Picchu via the Amazon Route on this round-trip tour from Cusco. Follow a trail through the lush jungle and visit Machu Picchu’s town, Aguas Calientes. Enjoy a guided tour of the archeological site along with meals, accommodation, and transportation.
Day 1: Cusco - Hydroelectric - Machu Picchu TownStart your trip early in the morning with the pickup from your hotel in Cusco. Then, begin crossing the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Appreciate the passing towns and observe different types of climates until you reach the tropical zone.
Enjoy an included lunch, then continue the trip to the Hydroelectric (45-minute walk). Next, the 3-hour trek along the Amazon Trail to reach Machu Picchu Pueblo begins.
Upon arrival in town, be led by staff to your accommodation. At night, have an included dinner and receive instructions from your guide about the visit to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Day 2: Guided Tour in Machu Picchu - Return to CuscoGet up early to walk for 1 hour until you reach the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. At the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, you’ll join a 2-hour guided walking tour where you can take photos.
After the tour, return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, then get time to walk from town to the hydroelectric plant. At the plant, the tour bus will be waiting to take you back to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at the Plaza San Francisco.
