The Vinicunca Full Day Tour, also known as the Rainbow Mountain Tour, is a popular day trip from Cusco that takes visitors to the stunning and colorful mountainside of Vinicunca.
Early in the morning at around 4:30 am, we begin our Vinicunca Full Day tour with a pickup from our hotel, followed by a 3-hour drive to the trailhead at Quesoyuni. Starting our trek from there, we pass through picturesque Andean villages, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The trek to Rainbow Mountain is a challenging one, covering a distance of about 6 km (3.7 miles) with an elevation gain of approximately 500 meters (1,640 feet), reaching an altitude of around 5,200 meters (17,060 feet).
As we journey, the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys unfold before us, and we observe local Andean communities in their daily routines. Upon reaching Rainbow Mountain, we'll have time to rest, capture photos, and marvel at the mountain's unique colors and patterns. After spending time at the summit, we hike back down to Quesoyuni.
