From Lima: Ballestas Islands, Huacachina and Wine Route

Discover the Ballestas Islands and Huacachina Oasis on a day trip from Lima. Spot sea lions, penguins and seabirds on a boat tour, go sandboarding and sample local wines and piscos.
Depart Lima and head to Paracas for a boat tour of the Ballestas Islands. Afterward, head to Ica for a wine and pisco tasting and a delicious lunch. Finally, visit the Huacachina Oasis for a buggy ride and sandboarding.

Depart Lima at 5:00 a.m. and head to Paracas. Arrive at the Paracas pier around 9:30 a.m. After passing through the checkpoint, board the boats for a 2-hour adventure exploring the vibrant marine life around the Ballestas Islands.

Begin the trip with a visit to the sand figure known as “El Candelabro,” where your guide will share intriguing theories about its origin and meaning. Afterward, continue sailing around the islands, surrounded by abundant wildlife, such as sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and various seabirds.

After the boat tour, head to Ica for about an hour, where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch and take part in a tasting of local wines and piscos at a restaurant and winery. Afterwards, head to the Huacachina Oasis.

Upon arrival, hop on the buggies to explore the vast sand dunes, followed by the thrilling experience of sandboarding down them. After this exciting adventure, you'll have time to wander around the oasis, take photos, and even do some shopping.

At 5:30 p.m., begin the return trip to Lima, with an expected arrival at around 10:30 p.m. at the pick-up location, ending this exciting day of exploration and adventure. If you'd rather stay in Huacachina to continue traveling, just let your guide know after your buggy and sandboarding experience.
