Departing from Quito, this full-day experience (9–10 hours) combines indigenous culture, nature, local cuisine, and a special encounter with alpacas, all accompanied by the expertise of our local guides.
We'll start at the Mercado de Ponchos, one of Otavalo's most important cultural and craft landmarks. Next, an indigenous local guide will share with you an up-close look at Cuicocha Lagoon and the life of the region's indigenous communities. We'll take a walk around the protected area, which will lead us to an alpaca farm, where we can feed and pet these adorable animals.
We'll also share a meal featuring dishes made with produce from the local indigenous community, an opportunity to enjoy cuisine from farm to table, as fresh as it gets.
