The ticket allows you to enter the Torre dei Lambardi, which dominates the historic old town of Magione from the top of a hill covered with holm oaks and cypresses. The tower, together with the Castle of the Knights of Malta, is one of the city's symbols.
Built by the Knights of Jerusalem between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Tower of the Lambardi is today an important cultural site, both because it is a historic monument and because it hosts temporary exhibitions of considerable importance.
This ticket allows you to visit the Tower and learn about its history. The two immersive projections are of great interest within the museum route: one is dedicated to the tower, while the other is dedicated to the figure of Giovanni da Pian del Carpine and his adventurous life. In fact, John, a Franciscan friar born in Magione, embarked on a long journey to Mongolia in 1245, about 25 years before Marco Polo. When he arrived in Karakorum, the ancient Mongol capital, he met Emperor Guyuk Khan, the grandson of the more famous Genghis Khan!
Finally, the ticket also allows access to the Tower during temporary exhibitions held inside, at no additional cost.
