Description

Hike with llamas from Chinchero to MachuQolqa, enjoying scenic viewpoints and ancient Inca sites. Feed the animals, enjoy a local lunch, then learn Andean textiles and weave your own bracelet.
Your hike begins in Chinchero, where you will meet the friendly llamas and alpacas that will accompany you on your journey.
The first hour of the route takes you to the Qori Huayrachina viewpoint, where you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and valleys.
After a short break to take photos and enjoy a light snack, you will continue walking toward the Archaeological Site of MachuQolqa. Here you will find innovative examples of advanced Andean engineering for food preservation, developed during or even before the Inca Empire. To ensure adequate food supply during times of scarcity, people built long structures designed to protect products such as corn and tubers for long periods.
At the end of your walk, arriving at Andean Colors, you will reward your llamas and alpacas by feeding them fresh grass. You will also be able to interact with the rest of the herd — an excellent opportunity for photos.
We will then continue with a traditional local lunch, including a soup starter, a main dish, and chicha morada (an emblematic Peruvian drink).
After lunch, we will begin the textile process: washing the wool, spinning, dyeing up to three colors, and finally making your own bracelet.
