From Iquitos ||3-day tour Pacaya Samiria National Reserve ||

Dare to spend 3 days in Pacaya Samiria to enjoy a complete experience in the Amazon rainforest. What creatures will come out early and late in the day?
Itinerary
Day 1
After picking you up in Iquitos at 8:00 a.m., we will board a bus that will take us to Nauta. Once there, we will travel back to the Marañon River, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River that runs through Pacaya Samiria. We will board a boat that will take us along the course of the river in a three and a half hour trip. We will be impressed by the deep canyons that the Marañon has created along the way.

Once the walk is over, we will go to the camp, where the tents where we will spend the night are located. We will access our room before starting to enjoy a safe experience in the Amazon jungle. We will take a break to regain strength while tasting a delicious typical Peruvian menu before continuing our walk through the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. The food we will offer is adapted to all tastes, you will have a vegetarian option, chicken, fish, vegetables, fruit and much more.

We will get back on a boat that will take us through the Huaylla, a lake whose immensity will leave us speechless. On this tour of the reserve we will see some of the species that inhabit the lake, such as herons, shanshos, camungos and river dolphins. Did you know that in Peru there are pink dolphins? We will discover surprises like this thanks to the tour guide.

We will take a walk at nightfall to watch tarantulas and listen to the songs of birds and other nocturnal animals. In addition, we will learn to detect which animal makes which sound.

Once this busy day is over, we will return to the camp to rest in our tent. There is still a lot of Amazon to explore!

Day 2
After a full breakfast at the camp, we will go back into the Pacaya Samira National Reserve to set up the camp where we will spend the night. This immersion in nature will allow us to discover what species of flora and fauna grow in the jungle.

If we take a look at the sky, we will probably spot the birds that fly over the jungle. We will be attracted by the wide range of colors of the feathers of these animals, as is the case of the yellow-faced parrot.

Mammal lovers are in luck, as the Amazon rainforest is home to sloths and different types of monkeys. If we are lucky, we may see some of these animals climbing the tall trees that crown this immense ecosystem.

Before concluding this day in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, we will take an evening boat ride to see caimans, turtles or anacondas in their natural habitat. Afterwards, we will return to the camp to spend the last night in the Amazon.

Day 3
The third and last day of the tour will be dedicated to a Native American practice: fishing. We will enjoy a day in which we will hunt for fish such as piranhas.

After a full breakfast at the camp, we will dive back into the jungle to once again contemplate the exotic birds and landscapes.

We will return to the camp to satiate our hunger with a delicious meal. With our strength restored and after having rested, we will board a boat to Nauta, where we will catch another bus that will take us back to Iquitos.

Pick up point
This tour includes pick up at your hotel in Iquitos or at the Iquitos Airport, as long as your flight arrives before 12:00 noon.
