Puerto Maldonado: Sandoval Lake Full-Day Trip with Canoeing

The adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado and heads to the Madre de Dios river where your boat for the day awaits. Arrive at the reserve and enjoy a 30-minute walk through the luscious landscape until you reach Sandoval Lake. At the lake, hop into a canoe head out onto the calm waters, which beautifully reflect the trees that line the shore. Keep a look out for the abundance of animals and birds that call Sandoval their home, and in particular the lake's giant otters.

Admire a stunning sunset in the late afternoon, then slowly begin the journey back through the jungle and towards the riverboat waiting to return you to Puerto Maldonado.
