Embark on an unforgettable tour of the Tambopata National Reserve, in the heart of the Amazon. Immerse yourself in lush landscapes
Day 1
We will pick you up at the meeting point and take you to the office to brief you on the excursion
At 9am you will be transferred to the port where you will take a 50 minute boat ride down the Madre de Dios River to the lodge. The first activity, which will be after lunch.
After lunch, we will have the opportunity to fish in the river where you can catch plenty of piranhas for dinner. This will be followed by a night excursion on the river where we will look for caimans and a night walk on trails where you can see all the wildlife that comes to life at night.
We will then return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2
Today we will spend the whole day exploring Lake Sandoval.
Lunch on this day will be served at the Amasisa Lodge, which is located within the Tambopata National Reserve on Lake Sandoval. We will have dinner at our lodge (Madre de Dios).
Day 3
Today we will visit the “Collpa de Loros”, a clay wall next to the river where multiple species of parrots come every morning to supplement their diet with the minerals they find here.
We will then return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, we will head to an organic farm along a botanical trail, where we will be able to learn about the seasonal fruits and vegetables of the area, as well as the medicinal plants that the locals use to cure illnesses.
Dinner will be served at the lodge.
Day 4
Today’s activity will start early at 5.30am where we will participate in a canopy walkway, which will allow us to see the jungle from a different perspective about 30 meters above ground level.
The bridges allow us to appreciate nature from a great height, where we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River. From the platforms you can observe different species of birds such as toucans and macaws.
After breakfast, get ready for a fun and challenging activity, located 30 meters above the ground among the trees! That's right, we're going ziplining!
For this activity, an instructor will guide us and advise us on the use of the safety harness before we begin the activity and feel the adrenaline of sliding through the trees. Afterwards we will return to the lodge to eat and rest.
In the afternoon we will visit Monkey Island, located on the Madre de Dios River. Many different species of monkeys can be found on the island, such as the brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, saddle-backed marmoset, and white capuchin. We will also have time to kayak on the river.
We will then head back to the lodge where you will take your transport back to Puerto Maldonado arriving between 4:30 pm and 5 pm.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
