Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Paradise Amazon Lodge (Tambopata)

Begin your journey with a transfer to Paradise Amazon Ecolodge from Puerto Acosta boat dock, followed by a tour of the Tambopata National Reserve featuring birdwatching and a canopy walk. Experience ziplining before enjoying lunch and an afternoon kayaking adventure on the Madre de Dios River. Visit Monkey Island and embark on a caiman-spotting boat ride after sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner and some relaxing time.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake – Night Walk

Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy a traditional Amazonian breakfast before exploring Lake Sandoval. Witness flora, fauna, and giant river otters during a guided walk and rowboat excursion. Conclude the day with a night hike to observe nocturnal creatures. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Macaw Clay Lick

In the morning, depart from the lodge for a 2-hour tour, traversing the Tambopata River. Board a boat for a 30-minute journey upriver to "COLLPAS TAMBOPATA INN" Lodge, where you'll catch glimpses of riverside birds, capybaras, and white alligators en route. After lunch, explore the primary forest for wildlife observation, including monkeys. As dusk falls, join an evening excursion equipped with flashlights to spot caimans, capybaras, and potential nocturnal wildlife. Wrap up the day with dinner, followed by an optional short evening walk to observe insects and nocturnal animals near the Lodge.

Day 4: Tambopata Tour – Puerto Maldonado

Commence the final day with an early start, boat ride upstream, offering a chance to witness the sunrise and potentially encounter wildlife. Upon arrival at the destination, marvel at the spectacle of parrots and macaws at the clay lick, while the guide provides insights into their dietary habits. Following breakfast at Chuncho Collpa, visit the checkpoint housing a museum for a deeper understanding of macaw and parrot life. Return to the lodge for lunch before exploring the Quebrada el Gato waterfall for a refreshing bath and learning about local agricultural products. Conclude the journey with a canoe ride down the river at dawn, followed by a two-hour 4X4 journey back to Puerto Maldonado.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
