Tambopata: Sandoval Lake and Collpa Chuncho 4 Days/3 Night

The Tambopata tour is the most complete experience you can have in the Peruvian Amazon, immersing yourself in the natural beauty and wildlife unique to the jungle.
The Sandoval something located in the Tambopata National Reserve, south of the city of Puerto Maldonado, has a body of water three kilometres long and one kilometre wide where the flora and fauna are the real protagonists. Explore this adventure, staying overnight in the middle of the jungle in the Tambopata Reserve, go on bird watching excursions and the typical activities of this region of Peru.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Lodge – Jungle walk
• This tour begins with boarding from Puerto Maldonado to the Tambopata River to reach the Lodge.
• Upon arrival we will enjoy a native lunch and unpack.
• We will walk through the different natural paths of the jungle to learn about the primary and secondary forest and learn about its uses and importance.
• We finish the walk at night and board a boat to observe the nocturnal flora and fauna of the Amazon.

Day 2: Chunchos Clay Lick - Sandoval Lake
• We start the day very early for breakfast and travel to the Chunchos macaw clay lick.
• Arriving at the clay lick we will see hundreds of macaws, red and green macaws, parrots and parakeets, as well as a spectacular show of these birds.
• We return to the lodge for lunch and return to Puerto Maldonado, we head towards the entrance of the Tambopata Reserve, upon arrival we embark to the port of Lake Sandoval.
• We will have a learning walk before enjoying an Amazonian dinner and spending the night at the lodge.

Day 3: Giant Otters - Night Tour
• We start the day with breakfast and go in search of the giant otters, take photographs and observe more species of parrots.
• Next we will observe trees that are more than 300 years old and learn about the natives of the place.
• We return to the lodge for lunch and then go swimming with our guide.
• We end the day contemplating the sunset and the night excursion, finally we have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Amanecer amzónico - Retorno a Puerto Maldonado
• Our last day we woke up early and enjoyed the impressive Amazon sunrise.
• We head to Lake Sandoval to continue exploring its flora and fauna in all its splendor.
• We return to the hostel to pack and have breakfast.
• We finish the tour with transfer to the city of Puerto Maldonado.
