Country: Peru
Duration:
2 days
Description
Explore the less touristy floating island of Titino, where ancestral traditions are still preserved. Spend the night in Amantani, the islands of the highest navigable lake, and discover the fine textile art in Taquile.
Pick-up from your hotel from 7:40 to 8:00 AM. Then we head to the main port, where we'll start the tour with a bilingual guide. The first stop is a visit to the floating islands of Titino, the guardians of time, where life goes on far from mass tourism. Discover floating islands made entirely of aquatic plants, built by their own inhabitants, and learn about the authentic life of this fishing community, a little-visited destination that's ideal for enjoying an authentic experience.
We'll visit Amantaní, where we'll be welcomed by the local people. We'll be able to appreciate the traditional clothing, which reveals marital and social status according to its colors and shapes. We'll spend time in local homes with typical meals, visit from Pachatata where we'll enjoy a fantastic sunset, and return to the homes of assigned families for a nightly gathering.
The next day, after breakfast, we continue on to Taquile, famous for the fine textile art of its men. We will enjoy a typical lunch (not included) and the colorful Sicuris dance.
Finally, we'll return to the Folkloric Capital of Peru: Puno
