Cardrona’s First Timer Packages are designed to make your very first experience on snow as easy and supported as possible.
Make your first time on skis or a snowboard as easy as possible with a First Timer Package for kids and adults at Cardrona. With facilities like the learner conveyor tunnel, a beginners’ area close to the base, gentle learner runs, a dedicated kids’ conveyor, and of course the amazing snow sports school, Cardrona is the ideal place to start your snow sports journey.

This package offers a cost-effective and fun introduction to skiing or snowboarding. It includes a beginners’ area lift pass, rental equipment, and a full day of lessons. You can also choose to add a clothing and accessories bundle at checkout to make things even easier.

To make your first day extra special, the package includes a single ride on McDougall’s Chondola in the afternoon, giving you the chance to reach the top of the mountain on your very first day! Capture that unforgettable first-day photo, then either cruise down the gentle green run to the base or relax and ride the gondola back down.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It is strongly recommended that you arrive at 9:00am to allow time for fitting rentals prior to Snow School check-in at 10:20am (or get fitted the night before at our Wanaka or Queenstown rental shops.) Once you have all your gear, First Timer Lessons meet on snow from 10:20am with lessons starting at 10:30am
Cardrona is an alpine ski resort just outside Queenstown and is reached by a 14-kilometer mountain road, self-drivers must carry chains or park at Pines carpark and catch our free mountain shuttle
This activity is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible
The tour operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately or consider purchasing the package that includes clothing + goggles
Cardrona Alpine Resort is located just outside of Queenstown and Wānaka 14km up a mountain access road

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
