Description

A walk through the streets of Krakow's former Jewish district Kazimierz with a guide is an excellent experience at the intersection of history, art and aesthetics. Find time and join!
How much sadness and happiness the Jewish Kazimierz experienced over the centuries! This historic district has witnessed many events - from the isolated life of the first inhabitants to the most fashionable district of Krakow in the 21st century. Thanks to this guided walk through the streets of Kazimierz, you will learn how the first Jewish settlers lived, how World War II influenced the fate of the entire city and this place in particular, and why Judaism and Christianity were so intertwined in the Jewish district.
Together we will read the symbols hidden in the architecture of the buildings to understand what the real Kazimierz is like.
There is a lot to see on the main street of Kazimierz - Szeroka. Here, history mixes with the present - next to iconic places such as the Old Synagogue, the ritual bath, and the houses of old Jewish families, retro-style restaurants and cafes have sprung up. Pass by the active Rem Synagogue with its cemetery, learn about rituals and customs in everyday life (trade, cuisine) and after death, and about relations with Polish neighbors.
Discover your Kazimierz for yourself!
