Description

Azulejos are unique decorative and architectural elements and one of the most traditional elements of Portugal. During this private tour, you will be introduced to Azulejos and Portuguese wine, both part of their culture.
You will be picked up at your hotel or apartment between 9:00 and 9:30 AM, as you wish. The trip starts with crossing the biggest European bridge - Vasco da Gama bridge. After a 45 minute’s drive, you will arrive at Palmela Castle. Palmela's traditional products are the Azeitão cheese and wine which won international awards. You get to taste them during a cellar visit with wine tasting.

The next stop will be Bacalhoa Palace or Adega which has an important collection of Portuguese tiles. Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendation (own expense), before continuing your sightseeing to the traditional tile factory.

You will visit a place where tiles are still manufactured and hand painted using old methods. Here, you can see all processes and the different techniques and applications of this unique piece. You will return to Lisbon crossing the 25th April Bridge.
