The trail is located within the Ponta de São Lourenço Natural Monument, which offers a unique chance to explore the geological origin and evolution of Madeira, a volcanic island on the African Plate. Guests should wait at the entrance to the Ponta de São Lourenço trail, located at the roundabout at the end of a dead-end road, to meet their guide, Sandro Vicente, who will be easily identifiable by the ID badge around his neck.
