Experience the culture of the Portuguese tile and emerge in a 2-hour experience where you will make your own tile
In this 2-hour activity you will learn about the history of the tile in Portugal, who brought them, what our influences are, the colors, how they are used today, we will go through various seasons and various cities. Azulejos date as far back as the 13th century, when the Arabs invaded the land that now belongs to Spain and Portugal, but they secured their foothold in Portuguese culture between the 16th and 17th centuries. The word azulejo stems from Arabic roots, meaning ‘small polished stone’. Originally they were fairly simple structures cut into geometric shapes in neutral tones, mostly blue. You will also paint your own tile and take it with you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The space is on the sub-floor and it will be necessary to go down 13 stairs. If you use a wheelchair please let us know in advance that we will do the activity on the main floor.
The workshop will take place on Boiler Studio in Rua dos Caldeireiros 125, a pedestrain street, in between Clérigos Tower and Rua das Flores.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
