Description

Discover the lush volcanic landscapes, one of the most beautiful and impressive hikes in Gran Canaria.
Our hike begins in the remote northeast of Gran Canaria. This volcanic-themed site has specific minerals found in the lava, which support rare forms of vegetation. A small stream flows through the valley throughout the year and in the rainy season reforms the landscape and supports the jungle vegetation with the moisture it needs.

One of the highlights is, of course, the possibility of spotting many kestrels, such as hawks or harriers. This is because they have a lot of "food" in that valley, which translates into small rabbits and, their main dish, canary lizards.

When we get to our picnic spot, if you are not too hungry and can share a small piece of your sandwich with them, you can even feed the lizards!

The tour ends with a visit to one of the most beautiful villages of Gran Canaria, showing the typical architecture and flash of the hiking area, where you can explore some treasures and typical products of the area, such as the famous bronze statues and buildings from the colonial era.

  • It is essential to wear appropriate footwear for the activity. You need shoes with profile on the sole, such as hiking shoes or Trailrunning.
  • In case of not having these or being unsure, we have mountain shoes for rent at 5 € per pair. It is only necessary to specify the sizes when booking.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
