Half-day tour Maïdo with Mafate view in Réunion Island English speaking driver/guide

At the top of Maïdo mountain, you'll have a crazy view of the Mafate Cirque and Piton des Neiges - the highest point in the Indian Ocean region. You'll be in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
At 8:00 am, the driver will pick you up at your hotel or residence. Let’s start a wonderful day!
On the road to the Maïdo, we will first pass through the “Tamarin’s trees” forest: unique, wild and wonderful feelings.
Just before the summit, a magnificent view of the Indian Ocean will be seen: photos at will!
Around 9:30 a.m., we arrive at the top of Maïdo, with its crazy view of the Mafate Cirque. This massive collapse of about ten kilometers of diameter, hasn’t any access by road and remains the wildest cirque of Reunion’s Island. Some very small hamlets are giving it a unique character!
On the way back, we will stop at a lovely place: “The House of Geranium”. This small family shop proposes essential oils distilled on site, and many others local handicraft products.
We then return calmly back to your hotel or residence.

Tips for the journey: In Réunion Island, the weather changes very quickly, the temperature can be cool in the mountains (we often go higher than 1500m), it's necessary to prepare following things for different situations: Protection against the sun and the rain (coat, hat, sun glasses, umbrella...), sweaters and pants in case, closed shoes (like sneakers).

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
