Explore Bras Rouge, a canyon combining rappelling and big aquatic thrills! It's located in the old crater of Piton des Neiges in the Cirque de Cilaos. Abseiling, slides, and a unique geology!
Nestled in the heart of the Cilaos Cirque, this iconic canyon originates on the slopes of the ancient crater of Piton des Neiges. Bras Rouge is a fun, aesthetic, and resolutely aquatic route, perfect for thrill seekers and those who love spectacular landscapes.

The adventure kicks off with a roughly 30-minute trek through lush tropical vegetation, eventually reaching a scree slope formed by repeated landslides. This gradual progression naturally leads to the first rappels and sets the tone for the day.

You'll enter the canyon at the exit of the famous Bras Rouge cirque, the main water collection basin of the Cilaos cirque. After a safety and technical briefing, the descent begins with a 25-meter aerial and dry rappel, offering a spectacular first immersion in the mineral environment. You'll then put on your wetsuits to tackle the aquatic section.

A second rappel, this time wet, leads to the foot of an impressive waterfall of about 70 meters, flowing into a vast natural basin. The walls, tinged red by iron oxide and mixed with bluish and dark shades, offer a striking backdrop.

The rest of the course offers several successive obstacles, which you can cross depending on your mood and the level of thrills you're looking for:

a rappel-slide, for a gentler, more gradual descent,

or via large natural slides, for a more engaging and fun experience.

As the gorge widens, the canyon reveals a more open atmosphere. The first part of the descent usually ends around noon.

2 Possible option: extend the full course for about 3 additional hours, intended for participants wishing to take the experience further.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
