Explore Réunion's Piton de la Fournaise on a guided hike. Head off the beaten track to the Bory and Dolomieu craters for breathtaking views. See newly formed volcanic constructions from 2019 and 2020.
In the "Fouqué enclosure", we will walk through the lava flows to discover the hidden wonders of this exceptional site.
First, we will hike down into the "Enclos Fouqué" from the "Pas de Bellecombe".
Theire, we'll walk on the martian lava surface, and walk through fresh "gratons" lava flows
Going out of the track will make us discover wonderful volcanic constructions : cones and craters from 2019 and 2020 eruptions.
Then, we will climb up to the "Dolomieu" and "Bory" main craters, to enjoy their stunning overview.
In the event of an eruption, the enclosure is closed by prefectural decree; Our specialists will then offer you an off-trail route in the "plaine des Sables" to see the eruption in progress or to discover past eruptions and the history of the volcano.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Good physical condition is required for this 7.5-hours technical hike. We will evolve on chaotic terrain, requiring good endurance and good balance.
We provide you with gloves and poles, compulsory for traversing these very abrasive grounds.
Children: We move throughout the course at an altitude of over 2000 m, so it can get very cold at the volcano and the weather conditions can change very quickly (rain, fog, wind ...). Young hikers, like adults, should be prepared for a demanding hike.
Recommended minimum age: 12 years old

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
