Description

Explore Bucharest's royal history on a guided tour. Visit the Elisabeta Palace, the Village Museum, the Arch of Triumph, and the Romanian Athenaeum. Enjoy a traditional Romanian lunch at Vatra.
Begin your journey with a stop at Elisabeta Palace, originally built for Princess Elisabeta. Take a tour of the palace, which was briefly used as a royal residence between 1937 and 1944.

Continue your tour through the Village Museum to explore some of the most unique old-style houses from Romania and elements of local folklore. From here, continue with a panoramic visit of the Arch of Triumph, built to honor the Romanian soldiers of World War I.

From the Arch, continue on Calea Victoriei towards the former Royal Palace of Bucharest, which today houses the National Art Museum. Admire its collection of Romanian painters. Next to it, explore the most iconic building of Bucharest, the Romanian Athenaeum, the first opera house built with French and Greek-style architecture.

After this, have lunch at a local Romanian restaurant called Vatra. From here, finish your tour at Cotroceni Palace. Built in the 1600s, it was always a place for kings and presidents. From local voievods (king term for Eastern Europe medieval time) and Romanian kings to modern-day presidents, it is the most impressive royal museum of Bucharest that is connected to present day history as well.
