Discover Romania's beautiful countryside and history on a full-day trip to the legendary Transylvania. See Gothic sites of interest, such as the castle that inspired Dracula, and explore Transylvania's diverse cultural influences.
Escape the chaos of Bucharest on this full-day tour to Transylvania. Following a hotel pick-up, travel through Carpathian Mountains to the mountain town of Sinaia, where you will explore the medieval Peles Castle. Continue to beautiful Sinaia Monastery, an excellent example of late 17th-Century architecture, and famous for the magnificent art it contains.

After a late lunch, journey to Brasov, home of Bran castle, famously thought to be the home of, and inspiration for, Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula. You will enjoy many other icons of old Brasov, including Council Square, Council Tower, Weavers' Bastion, the Black Church, and more.

The Black Church is a perfect embodiment of the Gothic reputation that surrounds Transylvania. For those who enjoy history, there will also be a visit to the first Romanian school in Transylvania, where you will find Romania’s first printing press, along with many other exhibits. The museum provides excellent historic information.

Return to Bucharest through the Carpathian Mountains, arriving back in the city at approximately 20:00.

• Peles Castle at Sinaia is closed on Monday and Tuesday. During summer season it is opened on Tuesday for a shorter program
• Please note that in November the Peles Castle in Sinaia will be replace by the Pelisor Castle
• The Black Church in Brasov is closed on Monday and Holidays. Also some churches and monasteries may be closed without prior notice, especially in the low season. Wherever possible, visits of the above sites will be replaced with visits to other relevant sites

When should I book?

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
