The first stop is Saint Ana Lake, the only volcanic lake in Romania, formed inside the crater of an extinct volcano. Surrounded by dense forest, the lake offers peaceful scenery, fresh mountain air, and excellent photo opportunities. You will have free time to walk around the lake and enjoy the natural setting.

From there, continue toward Red Lake, a unique natural lake famous for the tree trunks rising from the water. The surrounding mountain landscape makes this area one of the most photogenic spots in the Eastern Carpathians. You will have time for a relaxing walk along the shore or an optional lunch stop at a local restaurant.

Between these two highlights, you will pass through the impressive Bicaz Gorge — one of Romania’s most dramatic mountain roads. Towering limestone cliffs rise steeply on both sides of the road, creating a spectacular canyon setting. Short scenic stops can be made for photos along this iconic route.
