Description

This tour will offer you the opportunity to go into the heart of Transylvania - a wide wonderland that weaves together history, folklore, breathtaking landscapes and timeless traditions.
Hit the road and get immersed into the most important sites Transylvania has to offer. Beyond the fictional vampire tales, Transylvania is a real place with a fascinating past. Its medieval castles, including Bran Castle, evoke both mystery and history.
Transylvania’s landscapes are a blend of rolling hills, ancient forests, and charming villages. From the cobbled streets of Sighișoara to the fortified churches dotting the countryside, this region invites travelers to explore its enchanting beauty.

Day 1:
The first attraction will be the Libearty Bear Sanctuary, a territory spanning across 69 hectares of coniferous forests where you will safely observe more than 90 rescued brown bears in their natural habitat.

The trip will continue with a half an hour drive after which you will arrive at Bran Castle who was marketed to be the home of the main character from Bram Stocker’s novel “Dracula”. It distinguishes itself by the imposing towers and turrets and the mystery wave that shrouds people when they cross its threshold.

Just another half an hour from the castle we will arrive to Brasov where you will admire the Black Church, a Gothic-style church with over 600 years of history. Its impressive architecture and rich heritage make it a must-see.

After the walking tour, in the evening, enjoy a traditional romanian dinner with overnight accommodation in Brasov's city center.

Day 2:
After breakfast, depart to Rupea Fortress who stands atop a 120-meter-high basalt cliff which played a strategic role as a linking point between Transylvania, Moldavia and Wallachia.

Your trip will continue to the Saxon village of Viscri who has been part of a community project to revive nearly-lost traditions. Local artisans demonstrate skills like blacksmithing and brick-making, providing visitors with an authentic experience. Here is located the Fortified Church of Viscri, dating back to the 12th century, it served as a Roman Catholic chapel. Today, it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of villages with fortified churches in Transylvania.

After you arrive to the medieval citadel of Sighișoara, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during the walking tour, visit the city’s landmark Clock Tower for panoramic views across the city and the Southern Carpathian mountains. After lunch, head back to Brasov where you will have time to explore more.

Day 3:

Following the second overnight stay in Brasov, you will visit the exquisite Neo-Renaissance Peleș Castle built by the first king of Romania, Carol I. Its inauguration took place in 1883, and it remains a symbol of royal opulence and cultural heritage.

An hour and a half from Peleș Castle, you will arrive to Slanic Prahova Salt Mine, the largest salt mine in Europe. Although the mine is no longer active for extraction purposes, it remains open to visitors.

After exploring the salt mine, you will return to Bucharest.
