3-day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking in the Volcanoes National Park

A 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Tour is an intensive trip that includes two gorilla trekking experiences in Volcanoes National Park, you will observe gorillas and enjoy nature of the park.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and Visit Gorilla Guardian Village

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver guide at the Airport and transferred to Volcanoes National Park. You'll enjoy the scenic drive through Rwanda’s lush landscapes. After checking in at your lodge, you'll have lunch, then visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for traditional dances and cultural entertainment. This afternoon introduces you to local customs and traditions. You'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for your gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus (Optional)

After an early breakfast, you'll transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing at 7:00am. You will be assigned your first gorilla family and guided by expert rangers through the forests of Volcanoes National Park. The trek can take 2–5 hours depending on the gorilla group’s location. You'll spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, an optional visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is available. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking and Back to Kigali

After breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters for your second gorilla trekking adventure. You'll trek through the lush Volcanoes National Park Forest to find a different gorilla family and spend another magical hour with them. After lunch at the lodge, you will depart for Kigali, enjoying scenic views along the way. You'll arrive at your hotel or airport, concluding your memorable double gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park.

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
