From Kigali: Mount Bisoke Volcano Hike with Transfer

Begin your day with an early pickup from your hotel in Kigali or Musanze, followed by a scenic drive to Kinigi Park Headquarters. Upon arrival, attend a mandatory briefing conducted by park rangers. Meet your armed ranger guide, and, if requested, be assigned porters.

Begin your hike through thick rainforest and bamboo zones, gradually transitioning into steeper and more rugged volcanic slopes. Expect muddy and slippery sections (especially during the rainy season), dense vegetation, and occasional stinging nettles. Feel the cooler temperatures as you ascend.

The final stretch is the most demanding but also the most rewarding. Upon reaching the summit of the volcano, be rewarded with breathtaking views of a spectacular emerald-green crater lake, often shrouded in mist, creating a dramatic and unforgettable scene.

The hike also offers panoramic views of nearby Virunga volcanoes such as Mount Karisimbi, Mount Mikeno, and Mount Sabyinyo. After spending time at the summit, begin the descent back to the trailhead, which is generally quicker but still requires caution due to slippery terrain.

After the hike, transfer back to your hotel in Musanze or return to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
