Start your adventure with a scenic journey to Nyungwe National Park. Stop at the King's Palace Museum in Nyanza to learn about the cultural aspects of the country and its people. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to your hotel or lodge near the park.

Check in and register for the canopy walk. Cross a hanging platform 50 meters above the ground, offering an aerial view of the forest. Spot birds and primates feeding on top of the trees or jumping from one tree to another.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking – Nature Walk + Waterfalls

Wake up early for breakfast and prepare for a day of activities. Head to Uwinka for a briefing before being assigned a trail for chimpanzee tracking. Spot 12 smaller species of primates, including Hamlyn’s Monkeys, owl-faced monkeys, and Angola Colobus.

Nyungwe Forest is a birder’s paradise, home to colorful species like the Rwenzori Turaco and paradise flycatcher. Learn about each species’ behavior, feeding, and reproductive habits from your guide.

After spotting the chimps, enjoy lunch at the hotel. Then, embark on a nature walk to spot more birds, smaller primates, and waterfalls. Nyungwe National Park has over 14 trails designed to showcase the park’s flora and fauna. The waterfall trail is popular and takes 3 hours to complete.
