Rwanda: Guided 5 days biking the Congo Nile trail

You will ride up and down hills on the foots of the chain of mountains crossing rivers and valleys enjoying the landscapes of Rwanda making it the Land of thousand hills.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Day1: DRIVE FROM KIGALI TO GISENYI & GISENYI CITY TOUR
After arriving in Kigali and spending a night there, the next day in the morning we will transfer you from Kigali to Gisenyi driving for about 154 km in 4 hours. After checking in and eating your lunch at your hotel in Gisenyi, in the afternoon you do a warm up ride to Gisenyi city including borders between rwanda and drc to see how the local community carry out their daily life activities. you will spend your night in Gisenyi.

DAY2: CYCLING FROM GISENYI to KINUNU
Early in the morning at around 8:00 AM, start the ride from Gisenyi heading to kinunu. The ride is a mixture of up and downhills from the starting point. Total distance 41km.
Overnight stay at Kinunu guest house
Cycling duration 5-7 hours

DAY3: CYCLING FROM KINUNU TO BUMBA,
Start off with early breakfast and your packed lunch begin your cycling expedition along Lake Kivu exploring fishing villages and interacting with local communities along the way.
Overnight stay at Bumba base camp
Cycling duration 5-6 hours
Cycling distance: approx. 28.5km

Day4: CYCLING FROM BUMBA TO KIBUYE,
After eating your early breakfast at Bumba base camp with packed lunch, you will start cycling very early in the morning because this is going to be a more challenging day ride between Bumba and Karongi as it goes uphill all the way to Mukura Forest. At an elevation of 2600 m at mukura forest you have a wonderful view of the valleys to the east which drain into the Nile River and those to the West which drain into the Congo River. From Mukura forest, there is a long descent through Mukura Center and passing the Ntaruko Waterfall makes you reach the Muhanga-Karongi main road in Rwimpiri. From Rwimpiri, you will cycle about 21km on tarmac road to reach kibuye.

Day5: BOAT RIDE AND TRANSFER TO KIGALI
After breakfast, in the morning you will do a boat trip to Amahoro and Napoleon hat islands in lake kivu.
After having lunch, you will check out from the hotel in kibuye and drive for about 132 km, a journey that will take 3 hours to Kigali airport to drop you off for your flight.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
