Description

Enjoy a pleasant visit touring the interior of the Mosque-Cathedral with official tour guides who will help you discover the monument and learn about it in a more interesting way
First, we'll explain the Patio de los Naranjos, which was the old Courtyard of Ablutions. We'll see the bell tower that houses a 10th-century minaret inside. We'll learn why the access arches to the old Mosque are now walled up, and we'll find out what those pieces of wood hanging from the courtyard walls are. We'll enter the interior of the prayer hall, which was a mosque for 450 years and has been a cathedral for 790 years. We'll tour the original mosque built by Abderraman I, continue with the first expansion by Abderraman II, then the second expansion by Al-Hakam II, and finally we'll see the Mihrab, before moving on to the last and most modest expansion carried out by Almanzor. We'll end the visit at the High Altar and in front of the magnificent choir stalls, explaining a wealth of details that will surprise you
