Enjoy a day full of nature knowledge, tradition and crafts! Learn a lot about local plants, especially the canary island date palm. Make your own basket from it!
We will meet in the beautiful village of Agulo to take a stroll around the place together. Botanist Zdenka explains a lot about the local flora, history, agriculture, and especially about the canary island date palms: their biology, history and use. We learn to differentiate the male and female, and we collect palm brooms, which is the material for our baskets.
Starting with weaving, will make the circular base, "The Sun." This is quite challenging because we work with three twigs at a time. When we finish the base, Zdenka serves a homemade canary snack. After the break, we'll make the side walls of our baskets. Finally, we braised the edge and the handle. All in all, it takes about 5 hours for the weaving. Everyone will finish her or his own basket, I promise! It is a unique, authentic and extremely fulfilling experience!

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
