Description
Departure dates:
04/25/26 - 05/30/26 - 06/27/26
From Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (French starting point) to Logroño (end of the first Spanish section). 160-kilometer (99-mile) section,
With Verso Santiago, you will enjoy a personal experience on the French Way of the Camino de Santiago. This is by far the best known and most famous section of any pilgrimage route in the world. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, since the Middle Ages, it has connected the whole of Europe to the city of Santiago de Compostela, where the remains of Saint James the Great are still kept today.
With Verso Santiago, you can walk alone or in a group (or both, depending on how you feel). In all cases, one of our expert route coordinators will always bring up the rear of the group, ready to assist you whenever you need support. At Verso Santiago, we believe there is no need for someone to accompany you on the Camino, as it is a personal experience for each individual. However, our coordinators are trained in the fields of movement science, postural science, holistic medicine, coaching, and first aid. They support pilgrims both in preparing for the Camino and throughout the journey, ensuring their safety, fostering a friendly atmosphere, and forging strong emotional bonds.
Domenico is the founder of Verso Santiago, with 30 years of experience as a travel coordinator, adventure travel expert, personal trainer, posturologist, mental coach, yogi, martial arts master, and outdoor personal shopper. He has created a format that does not deprive pilgrims of the allure of discovery and the emotional (or spiritual) experience that the Camino offers to those who walk its paths, while ensuring safety, proper preparation, healthy relationships, and lasting friendships. Domenico says: There is a fine line between those who return overjoyed and those who advise everyone against it because, for them, it was a terrible experience. Over the course of four seasons on the Camino, I have also witnessed unpleasant incidents: people getting lost, a lot of blisters and joint inflammation, back pain, people not finding a place to sleep, or ending up in places where they could only pay in cash and couldn’t get food. With us, none of this will happen, and even in the event of an injury, the Verso Santiago coordinators are trained in BSL (Basic Life Support/First Aid) and are in contact with local emergency services.
You will be shown the most suitable technical equipment, receive physical training, and undergo targeted postural assessments to ensure you are optimally prepared for the Camino. During the Camino, there will always be an evening briefing where you will be shown the next day’s stage, the meeting points, the challenges, and the points of interest. Before dinner, there will always be a period for cooling down and meditation. In the morning, there will be breakfast, a warm-up, and then departure. There will be 10–15-minute breaks every hour, with arrival at the end of each stage always in the morning, and afternoons free for sightseeing or whatever you choose to do.
Through our partner tour operators, we will arrange: flights and domestic travel (how to get to the Camino and how to return home), accommodations, bookings with various lodging options, and insurance.
