On this trip to the Cíes Islands from Santiago de Compostela, you'll visit this wonderful Atlantic archipelago and see its spectacular pristine beaches with turquoise waters
We'll meet at our location at Rúa Bautizados 12, and from there, we'll head south from Santiago de Compostela.
After a road trip of about an hour and a half, we'll arrive at the port of Vigo. Once there, we'll board a ferry for a one-hour crossing to the Galician Atlantic Islands National Park, the protected natural area of which the Cíes archipelago is a part.
We'll anchor on the island of Monteaguado, next to Rodas beach, a stretch of more than 1 kilometer that was declared by The Guardian as the best beach in the world in 2007. Upon arrival, the guide will give you a brief orientation, and then you'll have four and a half hours of free time to explore the Cíes at your own pace.
You can walk along any of the trails scattered across the island, which will take you to the Faro de las Cíes or to the Alto do Príncipe viewpoint, a 122-meter-high drop from where you'll have breathtaking views. You can also take the opportunity to take a dip in the Atlantic and recharge your batteries at the beach bar on the island of Monteagudo.
Finally, we'll meet again at the dock to board the ferry back to Vigo. We'll head back by road to the starting point in Santiago, where we'll wrap up this 11-hour excursion.
