Before or after the rainforest trek, visit Gatabaruwa Raja Maha Viharaya when time, access, religious observances, and the selected route allow. Explore the publicly accessible temple areas, observe local Buddhist traditions, and enjoy views of the surrounding countryside.
Upon arrival at Sinharaja, purchase the required rainforest entrance ticket from the official ticket counter. Meet your local forest guide and begin your guided nature trek. The guide will select a suitable trail according to official regulations, weather, rainfall, trail conditions, guest fitness, and the entrance area used on the day.
Walk beneath the rainforest canopy and learn about native trees, medicinal plants, insects, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and the ecological importance of Sinharaja. The guide will help identify natural details that can be difficult to notice when exploring without local knowledge.
According to the selected trail and safe conditions, the walk may pass streams or a forest waterfall. Swimming is not a guaranteed part of the activity and is only permitted when the local forest guide confirms that water and weather conditions are safe.
After the forest experience, enjoy a Sri Lankan village-style rice-and-curry lunch served on a banana leaf. After lunch, return by the vehicle included with your selected option. Drop-off is provided at the original confirmed pickup location within the selected pickup area.

The forest trail may be wet, muddy, slippery, and uneven. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring rain protection, insect repellent, and a change of clothes.
Wildlife sightings, waterfalls, and swimming cannot be guaranteed. Swimming is only permitted when the local forest guide confirms that conditions are safe.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
