Embark on a three-day adventure and cultural tuk tuk journey from Trincomalee to Kandy. Travel slowly across Sri Lanka through sacred sites, rural villages, forest landscapes, and spice country.
Day 1 – Trincomalee to Habarana (via Kantale)
Depart Trincomalee by tuk tuk and travel inland through Kantale, passing reservoir landscapes and agricultural villages. The open-air ride offers clear views of changing terrain as the route moves toward the Cultural Triangle region.
Arrival in Habarana by late afternoon. Evening free.
Overnight: Habarana
Approximate riding time: 4–5 hours including stops
Day 2 – Habarana to Dambulla (via Sigiriya)
Ride to Sigiriya and explore the ancient rock citadel, once home to a royal palace and gardens. After the visit, continue to Dambulla and enter the cave temple complex, known for its painted interiors and Buddha statues carved into natural rock formations.
Overnight: Dambulla / Habarana area
Approximate riding time: 2–3 hours
Day 3 – Dambulla to Kandy (via Matale)
Travel south through changing landscapes toward the hill country. Stop in Matale at a local spice garden to learn about regional crops and traditional uses.
Arrive in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, and conclude the journey near the city center or lakeside.
End point: Kandy
