Description
Prepare a traditional paella with an experienced chef. Enjoy tapas and sangria, and discover the secrets of this Spanish classic.
Immerse yourself in the world of Spanish cuisine and enjoy an authentic paella workshop in the heart of Bern. Under the guidance of a trained chef with many years of experience in Madrid, you will learn step by step how to prepare this famous Valencian dish. This experience combines culinary knowledge, social interaction, and the joy of cooking together.
To start, you will be welcomed with small appetizers that will prepare your palate for the flavors to come. Next, you will prepare fresh sangria together with the chef, learning interesting facts about the origins and unique characteristics of this popular beverage. Next, you will delve into the history and tradition of paella, including fascinating facts and regional variations.
After the mise en place for the chicken paella, the paellero is lit, and the cooking begins: You will work with ingredients such as olive oil, paprika, chicken, garlic, parsley, short-grain rice, tomatoes, vegetable stock, saffron, salt, pepper, and rosemary. Together, you will stir, season, and watch the flavors come together. At the end, you will enjoy the freshly cooked paella in a convivial atmosphere.
After the workshop, you will understand that paella is much more than yellow rice with “ingredients” – it is a slice of Spanish culture that has been prepared in many variations for over 100 years. This experience gives you the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, exchange ideas, and make new friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're a tourist or a local, the focus here is on enjoyment and togetherness.
The event ends at the workshop venue, so you will still have time afterwards to continue exploring Bern or to round off the evening with your new friends.
