Chamonix is a picturesque town; from everywhere in the city if you look at the sky and you will see It – the roof of Europe – The Majestic Mont-Blanc. Take a breath of fresh air and stroll on the little streets full of charm. Chamonix hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924 and has re-emerged on the free-ride wave as the capital of all-mountain skiing. This busy little town is a popular place for day trippers, you will find lots of boutiques selling local produce as cheese, meats or fresh Savoie honey and also famous brands of mountain clothes, equipment.

You have the option to take the cable car or spend your free time in the village.

Cable car Aiguille du Midi :

Ride up the cable car and discover a spectacular panoramic view of the Chamonix Valley and the French, Swiss and Italian Alps at 3842m! On a clear day, you may even see Mattherhorn, the famous Swiss peak and icon of Switzerland – it’s even found on packages of delicious Toblerone chocolate.
After your return to Geneva, ride a mini van and take a trip to the past and appreciate the beauty of Yvoire, a city frozen by time. On a self guided tour, enjoy the littl handcrafts shops and eat a lake speciality: the perches in a pretty restaurant.

 
In the afternoon, come back to Geneva and take a small van for Yvoire.

Built in 1036, Yvoire's castle is the target of all photography-lovers of Yvoire. The military dungeon built in the 14th century was used to control the road that linked Geneva to the high valley of the Rhône, and to Italy.

Spend some free time and enjoy the atmosphere of this unique place. Regarded as one of the most beautiful villages of France, medieval Yvoire is situated right beside the Leman Lake. Sample one of the local specialties - a fish dish called filet de perche - in front of the magnificent Lake.

More than 700 years old, the village has miraculously preserved with invaluable testimonies of the past: the castle, ramparts, doors, and a ditch. For the return trip to Geneva, you'll cross the lake aboard the paddle steamer Belle Epoque.

On this self-guided afternoon tour, you will receive a map with the highlights of the place and a meeting time before the departure.
