Arusha: 4-Day Safari in Ngorongoro, Tarangire & Serengeti

Embark on a 4-day safari from Arusha to explore Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Spot the Big Five, visit Olduvai Gorge, and enjoy game drives in Tanzania’s iconic parks.
Day 1: Transfer from Moshi/Arusha to Tarangire National Park and Game Drive

Depart from Moshi or Arusha at approximately 7:00 AM after breakfast. Drive approximately 4 hours to reach Tarangire National Park, passing Lake Manyara en route. Arrive at Tarangire National Park around 11:00 AM, complete entrance procedures, and begin a 2-hour morning game drive. Break for lunch at around 1:00 PM within the park. Continue with an afternoon game drive for approximately 3 hours. Transfer to your accommodation in or near Tarangire for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer from Tarangire Area to Serengeti National Park with Game Drive

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation in Tarangire. Embark on a scenic 5-hour drive towards Serengeti National Park. En route, enjoy views of Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater from designated viewpoints. Pass through Maasai villages and curio shops, with opportunities to learn about local cultures and purchase souvenirs. Visit Olduvai Gorge and explore the shifting sands, an important paleoanthropological site. Proceed to the main entrance of Serengeti National Park and capture memorable photographs. Engage in a game drive en route to your accommodation in Central Serengeti.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park, Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Begin the day with breakfast at your Serengeti accommodation. Set out for a full-day game drive, exploring the vast, endless plains of Serengeti. Cover various regions from Central to Eastern and Southern Serengeti during the morning and afternoon game drives. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park at designated picnic areas. Continue game drives until around 4:00 PM before exiting Serengeti and proceeding towards the Ngorongoro Crater Rim for overnight stay.

Day 4: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater, Return to Arusha/Moshi

Begin the day with breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken and unflooded volcanic caldera in the world. Enjoy a 3-hour morning game drive within the crater. Visit the famous hippo pool and enjoy a picnic lunch with picturesque views. Continue with a 2-hour afternoon game drive. Visit Lake Magadi to observe flamingos and other bird species. Spot a variety of wildlife including wildebeest, zebras, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, jackals, elands, and Thompson’s gazelles. If fortunate, spot the endangered black rhino. Depart the conservation area and begin the journey back to Moshi through Mto wa Mbu town. Explore cultural activities and shops in Mto wa Mbu, with an opportunity to purchase souvenirs and learn about local Tanzanian tribes. Arrive in Moshi or Arusha in the evening, concluding the safari.
